Where the Quality Actually Shows
The mesh isn't where a chain link fencesucceeds or fails
Anyone can hang mesh on a frame. Your woven wire is only as good as the posts and the top rail underneath it, which is why the frame is where the quality of the job actually shows, and where it stays hidden if somebody cuts a corner.
What actually goes into it:
- Posts and top rail set right, first. The frame carries the mesh, not the other way around, and it's where corners get cut on a fence that looks fine the day it goes in.
- Posts set for the soil that's actually on your property. Much of this area sits on heavy clay that moves with the weather, and a leaning post shows up in a chain link fence the same way it does in any other kind.
- Privacy slats or mesh, where a partial screen is what you actually want. Neither gives full privacy, we won't tell you it does, and slats turn an open fence into one that catches wind, so the posts get sized for that.
- Gate posts and bracing sized for the gate. A sagging gate is the most common chain link complaint there is, and it starts at the post, not the mesh.

Call NowDifferent jobs. Chain link gives you containment and a clear property line without blocking light or view, and it holds up with almost no maintenance. Wood gives you privacy and a finished look. Plenty of properties end up with both, wood where people see it and chain link where function matters.
Not much on its own. Privacy slats and mesh help but never fully, and they change more than the look: a slatted fence catches wind the way an open one does not, so the posts have to be sized for it. If real privacy is what you are after, that's usually a wood fence's job, not chain link's.
